I left Evernote, like many, when they significantly raised the price. However, I got 60% off and came back. I tried most of the other options and didn’t like them as much. I’ve also been impressed with the speed of development and number of new features added in the last few months. They’re also building features based on customer feedback which I really like.

Is it comparable with Evernote. Would be brilliant if Google developped something like Evernote.

Adding their own calendar is a step in the right direction. The redesign of the app is appreciated. I hope they can build on making Evernote more stable than it is right now.

Streaks is a great habit tracker. I like the Apple Watch app to tick off habits when I am on the go. It works across the Apple ecosystem. They offer a one-off purchase for each device type.

I've used several of these, but TickTick is still my all around go to task & habits app. (By the way, Francesco... what happened to app number 9? 😂) Great list as always!

This app is god damn brilliant. It removes all the friction to daily use associated with all the other overly-complicated productivity apps.

Dont use spark its a shit app and i dont get it how you didnt mention the serious problem they have, that that stupid app doent support delete only one email in a THREAD so if you delete one email in your inbox that is a part of a thread it will delete all emails in that thread! Stupid app cuz of it i lost flight booking emailsnto some extreme important emails!! F spark dont use it folks!

It’s nice that you can see multiple calendars in one place but you can do that with outlook or Google calendar. What I really need is that if I get an invite to Google calendar it will block my outlook so a colleague won’t book that slot. Not block the imported google clanedar but the outlook one. Can that be done?

I highly suggest Loop Habit Tracker for Android. It is fully Free and Open Source; and thus allows unlimited habits with a lot of features while also being super simple to use.

Honestly, you seem to be quite amazed by the fact that one can create a separate event in Evernote calendar which will not be in your Google Calendar. I personally don't see the point because if I add something in my not taking app's calendar I want to see it reflected on my Google Calendar when I go and have a look at it. Or at least I want to have the option to do so which is not possible at the moment as one can't choose which calendar is adding the event to when creating one in Evernote.

Many habit apps these days are subscription-based, which is a no-go for me for such an app.

I would exclude Standard notes or mention that’s only text; Craft and Noteplan would better fit the list. I use Obsidian (work) and Bear (personal). At work, I need a more complicated knowledge system, while personally, Bear is just an enormous pleasure. Workflowy is excellent, but I choose Dynalist; although it’s not improving as before, they focus more on Obsidian development. Amplenote is almost a perfect tool, but it is a bit overwhelming and has a big flaw: no folders. But if you manage well with only tags and backlinks, it could be an excellent choice.

Francesco is really only one of a couple of people posting about Evernote and "should you use it" or "is it for you" videos. Just way too many restrictions for the free version and for us in Canada the pricing is $160 per year for personal. That's as much as I pay for my MS365 membership per year and it covers all the users in my family and I get everything needed with OneNote. Goodnotes is $13.00 per year so why would anyone pay $160 a year for this. Those who love Evernote LOVE Evernote and continue to make these videos trying hard to sell it.

Where the “Awesome Habits” app? He is the best

Is it just me or are the last few videos really terribly quiet? The sound mixing seems off by... a lot! Can't hear a single world on my standard volume setting :(

While watching this to compare the two I saw that the Kindle Scribe is currently on $279 with the premium pen versus the Remarkable 2 at $450. Amazon made the choice for me lol.

Evernote took a horrible turn. I pay 5 times more for much less than I had 3 years before. It was local, fast, reliable. It is now online, incredibly slow, and lacks basic things like selecting more than 100 notes. I am pissed and disappointed. After 10 years, I feel relieved to be able to take move notes out of Evernote and I am never looking back.

I’ve been seriously invested in Evernote since implementing GTD in it. So, I didn’t drop it when it went south. Glad I held out. Question: Have you heard if they will add Apple Reminder support as a Task account? I currently use Informant to manage my tasks, but would like to drop it and have everything available in Evernote. It would also save me an annual license fee which would subsidize my Evernote subscription.

This video hasn’t aged well. I must admit that I also was very wary about the acquisition of Evernote by Bending Spoons. But it turned out for the best and may have been the best thing that happened to our favorite note taking app. Evernote is now almost reaching adult age and Bending Spoons dealt with the growing pains . I am glad I stayed the course and keep having Evernote a central place in my digital life.

I'm leaving. degrading my service and up-charging me is not a path to success. So far I'm liking Obsidian.

Omg the music behind the verbal explanation has got to go. Annoying piano jazz (that's irritating to start with) makes it impossible to focus on what the guy is saying for this fairly advanced tech how-to. Please get rid of the dreadful clamor behind the speaking; I need this info but the music is a huge distraction. Plus he talks really fast. Having to stop the video and go back again and again to follow. Not worth it. I'm out. Sorry.

hello could you help me understand some more things

I like Proton Mail. It's incredibly important to have at least one privacy focused email regardless of your profession. Of this list though I do really love Spark feature wise. Great integration with Todoist, too. I use Spark for personal stuff where privacy isn't a concern.

I love Evernote and appreciate the new features!

Premium user since 2009. Evernote sent me a survey asking what requirements would keep me using Evernote. I listed a local version (gone), keep the web clipper at least as great as it was (half of them are now blank except for the title), being able to get rid of the distractions like widgets on the homepage (now even worse), never losing my notes (not quite as bad as it was maybe), and a reasonable price ( not even close). I can do all the new features more reliably and quickly on Google Keep and Calendar. I don't want or need AI pilfering through my notes. I certainly don't need an app that deigns to decide what's important for me today. So no, I don't see any use case for the new, improved Evernote at one-quarter of the price they're charging. Not that things were good under Ian, either, but I agreed to give Bending Spoons a chance. They're driving me away faster than ever.
